Articles about Writing

Most of these pieces were originally written for the Hands-On Writing Workshop I've taught for many years at a local adult education school. I have also made them available for distribution at the Philadelphia Writers' Conference, Inc. of  which I'm a board member and four-term past president, as well as to other conferences at which I've appeared.

For every highly successful and widely known writer, there are thousands more quietly selling their work to the nation's magazines and newspapers. Even most writers whose books are published sell to a moderate number of readers, without the hoopla of million-dollar deals. But writers they are. With determination, with dedication, with the constant willingness to learn more about the craft, from one small to moderate sale after another, they have earned the right to call themselves writers.
